NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 27, 2020) – Rising country star Cooper Alan’s latest single, “New Normal,” shot straight to the top the moment it was released, hitting #1 on the iTunes country chart and #6 on the all genres chart. The song also was streamed over 114,000 times on Spotify the first day of release.
The song has clearly struck a nerve with many fans on the TikTok platform using the song as background to their own videos, sharing their ‘new normal’ with their family and friends.
“I’m still in shock,” Alan says. “The connection that I’ve been able to make with my fans on TikTok over the past couple of months is so special to me. They brought this song to life and blew it up before it was even out; it absolutely blows my mind. I honestly don’t think I’ve stopped smiling for 24 hours. So thankful! It really feels like the beginning of a new chapter in my career as an artist.”
With his “covid-caroling,” imitations of popular singers singing “Savage,” and all-around fun content, the 24-year-old has gone viral on TikTok – hitting 3.1 MILLION likes with over 417,000 followers. Alan’s voice, down-home personality, humor, and authenticity have resonated with fans on the platform.
“New Normal” was written by Cooper Alan, Seth Mosley and Victoria Shaw with Shaw and Mosley producing. The song came out of a zoom conversation between Cooper Alan and his co-writers. Cooper explains, “While the pandemic has caused a lot of struggle and hardship, we all found that we have experienced little blessings along the way. That's what this song is about. It immediately struck a nerve with my friends on TikTok from the first day that I started posting little teasers of the song. My TikTok now has over 3 million likes so it was a no brainer to release it as soon as I could. As an independent artist it has been really amazing how people keep finding my music and joining me on this journey.”
ABOUT COOPER ALAN:
Cooper Alan was born and bred in the beautiful state of North Carolina. In addition to 4 years at UNC Chapel Hill, he also played every bar, college campus, and Honky Tonk that would allow him and his band to play. Cooper and friends soon became the “go to” band for great music and high energy, all-night throw down performances.
After graduation, he packed up his guitar and moved to Nashville as fast as he could, where he had the incredible luck of meeting hit songwriter/producer Victoria Shaw who signed him to a publishing deal immediately upon meeting the talented singer/songwriter.
